Mooring Team December Report

During the period of 12th of December till the 22nd of December 2016, HEPCA's Mooring Unit visited the areas of Safaga and Hurghada as part of the regular mooring maintenance plan conducted by HEPCA. The team inspected 51 moorings, maintained 36 moorings and installed 7 new. Following are the visited sites for Maintenance and installation: Soma Bay - maintenance 8 moorings White Topia - maintenance 3 moorings+ 5 moorings installation Red Topia -maintenance 2 moorings + 2moorings installation ben el gibal - maintenance 3 moorings . Erg el taweel - maintenance 4 mooring. fanous - maintenance 4 mooring. Abu Ramada North - maintenance 1 mooring Abu Ramada west - maintenance 3 moorings Abu Ramada south - maintenance 2 moorings. kamool al kabeer - maintenance 2 moorings. kamool al Sagheer - maintenance 2 moorings. Topia Sagheir - maintenance 2 moorings Topia - maintenance 3 moorings. Mooring Team November Report

From the 26th of November till the 1st of December 2016, HEPCA's Mooring Unit visited the areas of Wadi El Gimal and North of Hurghada as part of the regular mooring maintenance plan conducted by HEPCA. The team inspected 79 moorings, maintained 37 moorings and installed 2 new. Following are the visited sites for Maintenance and installation: Gotta Sharm - maintenance 4 moorings Habili El Dahara - maintenance 2 mooring. El Dahara -maintenance 3 mooring. Ras Wadi Gimal Island - maintenance 1 mooring. Gotta Eshta- maintenance 2 mooring. Sheleniat - maintenance 4 mooring. Gotta Garden - maintenance 2 mooring Erg Marsa Alam- maintenance 1 moorings Gotta Mekki - maintenance 1 mooring. Umsk- maintenance 3 moorings + 2 moorings installation. Siyul Kebir- maintenance 2 moorings Siyul Sagheir- maintenance 2 moorings Shabrour Siyul - maintenance 2 moorings Um Gammar - maintenance 4 moorings. Shuab EL Erg- maintenance 4 moorings. Also the zoning line of Shuab EL Erg was maintained and fixed to mark the lagoon and protect the dolphins ,divers and snorkelers in this area . HEPCA in Ras Gharib

Because times of crisis are the best times to gather us and make us stand together one hand. The HEPCA solid waste management team have interfered to assist and help in opening and clearing the roads of the city of Ras Gharib after the last floods crisis. In the following lines we will give an overview of the main efforts and results of our campaigns in Ras Gharib. - HEPCA sent its advanced equipment and vehicles from the solid waste management fleet to assist in re- opening of roads. (compactors, sweeper, loader and hook lift) with a working effort of 112 working hours. - HEPCA cleaning staff worked during the campaign on two daily shifts with a working effort of 1680 working hours. The main results of the campaign are the assistance in re-opening of many streets in the city and the re-opening of Ras Gharib check point. HEPCA would like to thank all the governmental and non-governmental efforts that was done to help the people of Ras Gharib.

Statement released by HEPCA in collaboration with the Egyptian Navy

Statement released by the Hurghada Environmental Protection & conservation Association (HEPCA) in collaboration with the Egyptian Navy During the past few days, we received reports regarding shark fishing violations that took place in the Brothers Island area. HEPCA contacted the Egyptian Navy directly in light of their continuous and permanent role in the protection of our Marine resources& Environment, as our natural resources are sanctities that should be kept safe. Accordingly, we hereby announce that the Egyptian Navy cautioned &urged all authorities in the vicinity of the island and diving boats working around the Island, to adhere to the rules and laws of the country with special emphasis on the shark fishing law to ensure that such violations do not happen again. Incase of any non-compliance with these instructions or legal infringements, Legal action will be taken against those parties involved and deterring penalties will be applied such as impounding of any boats or equipment utilized during these violations. Additionally, the Egyptian Navy has activated its patrols around all the Red Sea Islands to prevent the re-occurrence of such incidents. We express our thanks to everyone who contributes in reporting such violations as it enables HEPCA and any relevant authorities to perform our duties to (our/the) Red Sea Environment.

Amr Ali memorial day

يوم الوفاء لعمرو على- الجمعة الموافق 25 نوفمبر 2016 قامت جمعية المحافظة على البيئة بالبحر الاحمر – هيبكا بتنظيم احتفالية وفاء للراحل عمرو على – المدير التنفيذى للجمعية بدأت فعاليات اليوم بحمله نظافه تحت الماء بالاشتراك مع اكبر مراكز الغوص بالبحر الاحمر فى منطقة الجفتون الصغيرتلاها مسيره للمراكب مع رفع اعلام هيبكا الى مارينا الغردقة السياحى و تم اختتام يوم الوفاء بتجمع فى مارينا الغردقه بحضور سيادة اللواء / احمد عبد الله - محافظ البحر الاحمر، الدكتور محمود حنفى- المستشار العلمى للجمعيه العقيد / احمد حجازى- رئيس مكاتب مخابرات حرس الحدود بالبحر الاحمر و اعضاء مجلس ادارة الجمعية ، و نشكر الجميع على كلماتهم الصادقة و المعبرة عن مدى تقديرهم و اعتزازهم بشخص عمرو على الكريم شرفنا بحضورالسيدة الفاضلة / وداد عوف والدة الراحل عمرو على والسيد / اكرم على، الاخ الاصغرله، و افراد من اسرته الكريمة و اصدقائه و محبيه اللذين انضموا الينا من القاهره لمشاركتنا فى فى هذا اليوم كما نشكر جميع شركات صناعة الغوص و كافة العاملين بقطاع السياحة لتشريفهم لنا بالحضور و مشاركتهم المتميزه فى فعاليات هذا اليوم تم استعراض انجازات هيبكا فى عهد الراحل عمروعلى و ما قدمه للبحر الاحمر خلال مسيرته و ما حققته الجمعية من نجاحات اثناء قيادته ، كما تم التطرق ايضا الى المشروعات المستقبليه للحفاظ على البحر الاحمر بواسطه السيده هبه شوقى- المدير التنفيذى الحالى HEPCA organized a memorial day to honor our late Managing Director Amr Ali . The memorial day started with an underwater clean up in small Giftun . Followed later by a Boats parade from small Giftun to the new Hurghada Marina with raising the HEPCA flags on all boats. The memorial day ended with a community gathering at the new Hurghada Marina with the attendance of H.E. General Ahmed Abdallah the Red Sea governor, Dr. Mahmoud Hanafy HEPCA`s scientific advisor, Colonel Ahmed Hegazy head of the Red Sea coast guards intelligence and HEPCA board members, We hereby thank each & everyone for their attendance, their contribution and honest words about Amr Ali. We were honored with the attendance of Mrs. Wedad Auof, The mother of Amr Ali and his brother, Mr. Akram, and some of Amr’s family member and devoted friends, who came from Cairo specially to attend the Memorial Day. HEPCA would like to warmly thank all the diving community members and tourism industry members whom took the time to attend and join the activity of the memorial day, also we would like to thank the diving centers and safari boats of: Sea Serpent Fleet , Red Sea Explorers, Dive Point Red Sea ,Mahmaya, Euro-Divers Grand Hotel, Hurghada, Ilios Dive Club, Aquarius Hurghada , SUBEX Diving Center Hurghada , Emperor Divers, Red Sea and Aldau for participating in the boats parade . In The community gathering we over viewed HEPCA achievements under Amr leadership and the milestones he achieved with HEPCA in protecting the Red Sea natural resources. And it was also a good chance to present HEPCA`S future plans for the conservation of the Red Sea by our new HEPCA Managing director Mrs. Heba Shawky. .
