A New Vision for Samadai – Dolphin House

It’s been just over a month since announcement of the governmental decree assigning HEPCA as the managing entity of Samadai. The HEPCA team has made a lot of progress in a very short time and our vision for this precious dolphin sanctuary is nearly complete. It’s up to the community now to unlock the true potential of this world-class tourism wonder. Proper management of this important natural resource will exemplify this destination's environmental performance and thereby ensure our regions competitiveness on the world tourism market. Despite some serious problems during the hand-over and many examples of blatant mismanagement; HEPCA has managed to overcome every obstacle. We are on course for our Samadai dive guide training and certification, which will take place from March 7-8. Dolphin researcher Angela Ziltener from the University of Zurich will be conducting the 3 hour training course and we will be providing all of the participants with new sales tools and channels. HEPCA's patrol boats have been stationed for duty at Samadai reef and our administration team is in the process of furnishing and equipping our office in Marsa Alam city. Our marketing team has prepared new Samadai pamphlets, ticket designs, info-graphics, and merchandise. Our exciting new web-site and resource portal dedicated exclusively to Samadai is now live - www.dolphinhouse.org The site is an important educational resource containing years of information and research. We’ve also integrated exciting functionality into the site including; a forum, guest book, downloads, certified dive center listing and much more. We will soon be launching our Sponsor a Dolphin project which will allow individuals to "adopt a dolphin" and to help us protect them for the long-term. Our new state of the art and mobile classroom the bio-boat is currently being built and will be deployed at the site by May. This facility will be manned by our dedicated personal and dolphin specialists. It will serve as a floating platform with observation deck, live green roof, science equipment, the latest multi-media tools and more. HEPCA is planning to hire staff from the local community as the Samadai project develops and there is a lot of potential for employment and job creation if we succeed. A community based dolphin monitoring program for Samadai is another important aspect of the project that we will be announcing very soon. The Samadai initiative is about our community finally having the opportunity to express a new ownership over the management of a very important national resource. HEPCA will be offering free excursions to Samadai for school children and local residents every Friday to re-ignite the community's passion and environmental stewardship over this precious marine habitat. We are once again asking all of our members, as well as the beneficiaries and the users of this unique site to support and help us in achieving these objectives. رؤيه جديده لصمداى – بيت الدرافيل لم يمض اكثر من شهر على اصدار محافظ البحر الاحمر قرار يعلن فيه ان جمعيه هيبكا هى الكيان المسئول عن ادارة شعاب صمداى " بيت الدرافيل " و قد قام فريق العمل فى هيبكا باتخاذ خطوات متعدده فى فتره زمنيه قصيره وقريبا جدا ستكتمل رؤيتنا لاحد اهم الموارد الطبيعية بمصر و على المجتمع المحلى الان ان يبرز الطاقات الحقيقيه لمنطقة صمداى الذى تعد من عجائب السياحه العالميه ، و لا شك ان الاداره الصحيحة لهذا الكيان الطبيعى ستجعله مثال يحتذى به و من ثم سيؤكد على قدرتنا على المنافسه الاقليميه فى مجال السياحه العالميه.بالرغم من بعض المشاكل الخطيره التى واجهت الجمعية خلال عملية الاستلام و العديد من الصعوبات التى تؤكد سوء الاداره السابقة الا اننا استطعنا تخطى كل هذه الصعاب حاليا نحن بصدى اقامة ورش تدريب للعاملين بمجال الغوص بالمنطقة ، و سوف يمنح المشاركين شهادة اتمام دورة تدريبية للخصائص البيئية لمنطقة صمداى و سيقام التدريب يومى 7- 8 مارس، هذا و سوف تكون باحثه علم الدرافيل من جامعه زيورخ : انجيلا زيلتنير المسئولة عن التدريب خلال الايام سابقة الذكر و لمدة ثلاث ساعات لكل ورشة استقر قارب الدوريه التابع ل"هيبكا "بصمداى لبدء العمل و شارف العاملين بالانتهاء من تجهيز مقر للجمعية لادارة صمداى بمدينه مرسى علم ، كما قام فريق التسويق الخاص بالجمعية بإعداد كتيبات, تصميم جديد لتذكرة صمداى , معلومات بيانيه و تذكارات خاصة بشعاب صمداى .هذا و يمكنكم زياره موقع صمداى على شبكة الانترنت الذى انشأته الجمعية للتعرف على اخر التطورات www.dolphinhouse.org و يعتبر هذا الموقع مصدر تعليمى و تثقيفى يحتوى على خلاصه ابحاث سنوات عديدة من البحث العلمى. بالاضافه الى هذا تم اضافه بعض الخصائص الجديده للموقع مثل: منتدى, كتاب زوار, قائمه باسماء مراكز الغوص المرخصه و اكثر. و سوف نقوم قريبا باطلاق مشروع "تبنى درفيل" الذى سيتيح لاى شخص فرصة المساعدة فى حماية هذه الكائنات الفريدة على المدى الطويل اما بالنسبه ل"فصل هيبكا العائم", فهو قيد التنفيذ حاليا و سيتم الانتهاء منه بحلول شهر مايو. سيعمل على الاشراف على الفصل العائم بعض من اعضاء فريق "هيبكا" و الباحثين فى علم الدرافيل. و سيشمل منصة للرصد و المراقبة ، سطح اخضر لجذب الطيور ، و سيكون مجهز بأحدث المعدات العلمية و اخر توصلت اليه تكنولوجيا المعلومات و اكثر و من المقرر ان تقوم الجمعية بتعيين موظفين جدد من اهالى مدينة مرسى علم للمشاركة فى انشطة الجمعية التى ستدار بها شعاب صمداى و هى احد الاهداف التى تسعى اليها الجمعية فى كافة مشاريعها و هى توفير فرص عمل حقيقية لابناء هذه المناطق كما ستطلق الجمعية مشروع مراقبه الدرافيل المعتمد كليا على المشاركات المجتمعيه و الذى سنقوم بالاعلان عنه قريبا. مبادره صمداى هى فرصه لابراز دور المجتمع المدنى فى اداره واحدة من اهم الموارد الطبيعية ، و من اجل رفع الوعى البيئى و زيادة الاحساس بملكية هذه الموارد و الحرص على الحفاظ عليها سوف ستقوم الجمعية بتنظيم رحلات مجانيه لاطفال المدارس المحيطه و عائلاتهم يوم جمعه من كل اسبوع و ها نحن مره اخرى نطالب اعضائنا و المستفدين من هذا الكيان المتميز بمساندتنا و مساعدتنا فى الوصول الى تحقيق تلك الاهداف
