Environmental Violations: A Real Threat to the Future of the Red Sea
As part of Hepca's effort for environmental conservation, our team on a daily basis patrols the sea to insure that people are respecting the environmental laws, but we also rely on your reports of any violations. In the last few weeks, we received many reports from concerned members of the red sea community, regarding environmental violations many of the them by committed by dive guides. With your help we were able to identify the people committing these violations, and with the support of some of the authorities, we were able to take legal actions against them. These kinds of violations are one of the major threats to the marine life of the red sea. And we call on all those responsible in the tourism industry to take responsibility of insuring that their teams are well educated and are following the environmental regulations. We also call on the official authority, whose responsibility is to monitor and penalize any violations, to take this responsibility seriously, and not leave this job to the concerned community of the red sea and its NGOs alone.
