HEPCA conducts Tridacna training workshop for local community
HEPCA conducted a training workshop for selected group of local community in the southern coast of the Egyptian Red Sea as one of the main activities of LIFE-Red SEA Sustainable Growth II . The training was on methods of rearing and induce spawning of the giant clam. The workshop aimed to introduce induce spawning to the local community and allow them to practice the activities hand on. Members attending the training were able to prepare food for larvae and understand growth requirements of the giant clam at different stages. HEPCA is aiming through this project funded by the USAID to restore depleted nature habitat and support local community especially fishermen through the introduction of green cultivation of the giant clam in order to improve their livelihood.
