Quick Fix For The North
The HEPCA Mooring Team recently completed their periodic maintenance rounds in the Northern Islands. Their five day trip, from the 7th till the 11th of March, kept our team extremely busy. They established nineteen new moorings and maintained nearly another thirty. The trip included some of the reefs most visited by the diving industry, including Shaab Abu Nuhas, Siyul Al Kabeir, Shabruhr Siyul (East & West), Onghosh and Siyul Al Sagheir. Our team came back with an important message. They ask that all boat operators follow "HEPCA’s Guidelines For Using Buoys" as more than five moorings were found damaged due to misuse. The HEPCA team will be back to the North within a couple of months; until then the mooring system of the North is under the care of the resident diving community. The HEPCA team wishes you all an enjoyable new diving season.
