Thank You Sea Serpent – 1st of 3 Contributions to Mooring System

HEPCA has called on our members to help us expand with a new mooring system in Sinai and help us in facing the ongoing challenges that we are continuously having in the far islands and the South. The Sea Serpent fleet was our first contributor and donated an entire mooring system, but we are in need of 2 more contributions. We are asking our members to help us by purchasing mooring equipment and providing the logistical support with installation and maintenance. A few years ago HEPCA received a substantial contribution from the Wallard family, which helped in maintaining our mooring system in the south for the last 3 years. HEPCA's mooring system would be very difficult to sustain without the help of our supporters, members, and especially the national park enforcement. Since the January 25 revolution, enforcement and patrolling by the national park authorities has dropped significantly and this has been a very concerning reality. Physical damage to coral reefs from anchors has been well documented all over the world. When boats attach their anchors to a reef, the action of attachment and the pressure on the chains caused by underwater swell can rip reefs apart. The most effective way to reduce damage is the installation of mooring buoys for anchoring boats. Mooring installation and maintenance are one of the primary ways by which our members can become involved. Of our many efforts towards protecting the Red Sea, HEPCA's mooring model has been the most important project towards engendering a sense of ownership when it comes to coral reef protection. It was our community that set the trends for a mooring culture that is now expanding all across the Red Sea including; Jordan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Sudan. It’s been your continued help and support that is spreading environmental consciousness throughout the Red Sea region. Thanks again for your support Sea Serpent and we are still waiting for the next 2 contributors. تحيه ل "سى سربنت " لتبرعهم بوحده شمندورات كامله تقدمت جمعيه "هيبكا" بدعوه اعضائها الى مساندتنا و التوسع فى اتباع نظام حبال الشمندورات فى سيناء و ايضا فى مواجه التحديات المستمره فى الجنوب و الجزر البعيده."سي سربنت" كانوا اول المساهمين حيث تفضلوا بالتبرع بنظام شمندورات كامل, و لكنا مازلنا فى حاجه الى عدد اثنين متبرعين اضافيين. و ها نحن نتوجه لاعضائنا ان يساهموا معنا فى شراء المعدات اللازمه لنظام حبال الشمندورات و تقديم الدعم فى ما يتعلق بنقل , تركيب و صيانه الشمندورات قبل بضعه سنوات استقبلت جمعيه "هيبكا" دعم طويل الامد من احد مساندينا عائله " والارد " , و التى ساعدت بشكل كبير على صون نظام حبال الشمندورات فى الجنوب للثلاث سنوات الاخيره.هذا بالاضافه الى دعم مساندينا , اعضائنا و الاليات المتبعه من قبل حراس البيئه.و لكن منذ اندلاع ثوره الخامس و العشرين من ينايروقد تراجع بشكل ملحوظ دور حراس البيئه و الجهات المعنيه بالحفاظ على البيئه مما شكّل واقع مقلق للغايه اثبتتالدراسات المعترف بها عالميا التأثير السلبى على الشعاب المرجانيه الناتج عن المراكب و اعتمادها فىالرسوَ على الشعاب المرجانيه يؤدى الى تدمير التكوين الشعبى و تحطمه تحت ضغط الهلب او الاسلاك. لذلكالبديل الوحيد حتى الان لتقليل التلف هو اتباع نظام حبال الشمندورات من الطرق الاساسية و التى قد يتبعها اعضاء جمعيه "هيبكا" هى مساندتنا فى تركيب و صيانه نظام حبال الشمندورات. فمن ضمن مجهوداتنا المتواصله لحمايه البيئه البحريه للبحر الاحمر, اثبت نظام حبال الشمندورات نجاحه فى كونه احد اهم المشاريع التى تساهم فى نشر ثقافه دور الافراد فى حمايه الشعاب المرجانيه نظام حبال الشمندورات هو مبادره مصريه خالصه اَخذت فى الانشار على طول سواحل البحر الاحمر فى الاردن, المملكه العربيه السعوديه و السودان.بدون مساندتكم المستمره ما كان لهذا المشروع ان يسود سائر البلاد المطله على البحر الاحمر تحياتنا مره اخرى ل " سى سربنت " و لازالنا فى انتظار مبادره المتبرعان الجدد
