Deutche Schule Environmental Week

HEPCA and Deutsche Schule Hurghada organized 2 workshops about plastic reusage during the Environmental Project week of the school held between 23 – 26 June, and as part of HEPCA’s awareness campaign about plastic in Red Sea Schools.

HEPCA and Deutsche Schule Hurghada organized 2 workshops about plastic reusage during the Environmental Project week of the school held between 23 – 26 June, and as part of HEPCA’s awareness campaign about plastic in Red Sea Schools.



The first workshop was conducted by Shady Rabab, winner of Africa for “Young Champion of the Earth”, who promotes waste recycling in the design and implementation of musical instruments for a greater positive change in communities.



The workshop included giving valuable information about plastic recycling, engaged students with some dance moves, and created an instrument “Flute” from PET bottles. The age group participated in this workshop was class 7&8.



The second workshop was for class 5 where they were trained to make a wallet and a turtle from PET bottles, the workshop was given voluntarily by Rokya Association, an environmental NGO based in Safaga.



The Environmental week also included a visit to HEPCA Solid Waste Sorting Plant in Hurghada where they were educated about the Solid waste segregation process, the economic value of Solid waste and its usage.
