Handicrafts Initiative

The Bedouin tribal women are well known for their skills in producing beautiful handicrafts like rugs, embroidery and jewelry. HEPCA has and continues to support the women and their skills as without this the women would have no other means of support. The backing that HEPCA provides has resulted in 2 handicraft centers in Shelateen and Hamata.

The handicraft centers are housed in traditional tents that allow visitors the opportunity to experience Bedouin hospitality and observe the traditional production techniques. Goods can be purchased from the showroom and sold on a free trade basis, with all profits going back into the system directly. The handicraft workers receive professional training in branding, marketing and enhancement of their products.
